The open house showcases the national traditions of France. During open houses, the House of France is open free of charge to the public. Refreshments are served. Donations are welcome.
Les portes ouvertes sont l’occasion de montrer les traditions françaises. Durant les portes ouvertes, le cottage français est ouvert gratuitement. Des rafraîchissements sont servis. Toutes les donations sont les bienvenues.

Fête de la Musique (Music Fest) will be making a return soon!
Join the worldwide celebration of music!
Make Music Day is a free celebration of music around the world which takes place annually on June 21st. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries.
What better reason to celebrate music than on June 21st, the first day of summer? Music is, of course, the universal language that brings people together.
Join us to hear a variety of local artists who will perform that night, including Ukulele, Hindie-rock band, rock guitar and classical guitar.
The House of France, in coordination with other French organizations, invites you to enjoy the festive atmosphere for an evening of free music.

Lawn Program Sunday, July 14, 2024. The House of France features music and dance.
Last year, in 2022, we were pleased to present Monique Caron singing a variety of French favorites, the Performing Folk Dancers of Balboa Park showcasing a variety of French Regional Dances, and Accordianist Gordon Kohl playing a variety of French music.
Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy the show this coming July 14, 2024! Visit the Cottage for free cookies and coffee!

Join us for our Annual Summer Picnic!
The French Cottage will be hosting a fun, outdoor event at Sunset Point Park in Mission Bay at Dana Landing Rd, San Diego, CA 92109. We will provide baguettes, merguez sausages (and a vegetarian alternative), drinks, coffee, and dessert.
Bring a dish to share, chairs, and bring your favorite outdoor games: pétanque, croquet, or a frisbee!
